UTILISING THE INFORMATION

In the first instance it must be realised that each and every one of us has a different approach to the utilisation of information obtained in connection with Horseracing and Tipsters - However, it may be true to suggest that what we all want at the end of the day is "winning" advice - Winning advice which leads to Winning bets (including profitable each-way wagers where indicated or advised) - To win must be the main purpose, if we are honest with each other!

PROFESSIONAL TIPSTERS:

My own firm belief is that, as the main motivation of being a public (or private) Tipster has to be financial (e.g. they earn more money if they are successful), their efforts in the main are reasonably sincere and they genuinely aim to achieve this success on a regular basis - if performance is failing they will also try their utmost (including replacing personnel) to repair the damage to their reputations swiftly.

Therefore, it would be fair to say that, each day, most of these Professional Tipsters will conduct their businesses by relying on a combination of the following factors to produce their best advices:

  1. Form study - Ratings, past performances, speed, etc.
  2. Occasional inside information via Racecourse contacts and racing colleagues.
  3. System following (Formula 8 etc) - via regular research of the market place.
  4. Personal intuitions.

Whatever the method used I understand that, in most cases, a fairly significant amount of time is spent by most Tipsters on the deliberations of each day...On this basis what I am attempting to do is to "harness" the collective power, man-hours and knowledge of a growing list (currently over 75) of Tipsters, pass on their Tips to you each day (at a fraction of the actual cost) and then, most importantly, regularly monitor and analyse each and every Tipster's performance for your benefit so that you at least have a Guide to those who are successful - and those who are definitely not!

Basically, receiving 100/200 tips each day is of no real use if you don't know anything about the Tipsters concerned - merely serves to confuse the issue further.

As you will begin to see, I use various factors within my Analysis and, again importantly, I treat all Tipsters the same (ignoring Staking Scales) by assuming each win advice carries a single point to win, with each way advices half that point to win and half that point a place - In this way I aim to show the "true" performance records - which may then be realistically compared between all Tipsters on an even basis - However, the JC's are now shown separately in these Tables, calculated at actual declared stakings .

The criteria I use is as follows:

  1. Recent (Year-to-Date) performance - Winning Advices to Advices and the resultant percentage - Strike Rate %.
  2. Week-to-Date winning performance (+ 1pt)
  3. The actual £Profit/£Loss to date on all recent Year-to-Date advices - e.g. where the money goes!
  4. The B Ratio - which looks at their very latest (two weeks or less) perormance and is designed to quickly recognise any changes to their normal pattern, recognise sudden out of the ordinary winning (or losing) runs and identify these trends as either winning alerts - or avoidances.

This analysis produces various Tables, as current Members have seen:

  1. The Mainframes (available by website downloads) showing all Tipster advices and results to date, from commencement in April 1999 or later.
  2. The Daily Tipster Table - Those Tipsters currently showing a Profit and those currently showing a Loss; displayed with Strike Rate %, A, B & C Ratios, ROCE and £profit/loss to level £1 (or 50p e/w) stakes .

    (a) The HOTLIST - This is where we find our Top Tipsters who are currently achieving a Winners/Advices Ratio of (usually) 2.0 or below - This means that they have recently provided on average of at least 1 winner from every 2 advices.
    (b) The NOTLIST - These are the Tipsters with the worst recent Ratios, from (usually) 6.5 upwards whose tips are currently performing at a suicidal rate (e.g. only 2 winners from every 13 advices...and worse!).
  3. Occasional Special Reports - Winning/Losing Sequences, Inside Information (Yes, I do send out "WHISPERS" sometimes - but only when I believe the information is good!) etc., etc.

-------------------------------------------

SO - HOW DO WE USE THIS INFORMATION?

To recap - The Tipsters Tips are sent each day - with the benefit of the Tipster Tables they should now no longer be a confusing and unintelligible mass and you should, at least, have a good idea of how each Tipster is perfoming - this information really is based on hours of careful daily analysis.

PLEASE REMEMBER - JC RACING IS NOT A RELAY SERVICE - WE PROVIDE DAILY TIPSTER ADVICES AS A CONFIRMATION OF OUR METHODS - TO REGISTERED MEMBERS - ONLY!

THE RATIO & STAKING PLANS:

  1. As I have said, I currently produce a HOTLIST containing those Tipsters currently achieving winning B Ratios (usually 2.0 or below).
  2. In effect, a B Ratio of 2.0 or below means that, on average, that Tipster is currently producing at least 5 winning advices from every 10 given (50% or better) - A reasonable Staking Plan can live with that - naturally it depends on the actual SP's of those winners and the type of Staking Plan, but generally speaking this would be a performance upon which profits could be realistically expected.

    FIRST SELECTION CRITERIA: "HOTLIST" Tipsters.

  3. Similarly, the NOTLIST exposes those bad Tipsters who are maintaining their poor record at a B Ratio of around 6.0 or above (15.38% or worse) - However , this negative information is of value - because they represent Tipsters' advices to avoid!!

    SECOND SELECTION CRITERIA: "NOTLIST" Tipsters.

Now, armed with this information (regularly updated every day) we match one set of selections (HOTLIST) against the other set (NOTLIST) - In each case where a HOTLIST selection is matched by/coincides with a NOTLIST selection - that matching selection is disregarded!

Any remaining clean "HOTLIST" selections are the horses to back that day.
  4. My Own (additional) Rules: From my own mixed experience I have found that, by applying the following additional criteria, my selections have improved further:

ALL RACES (Reconfirmed 09/12/2005 )

  1. No AW racing
  2. Races with 4 or less runners - NO BET
  3. No Amateurs, Lady-riders or Banded (Class 7).

NATIONAL HUNT RULES: (Updated 09/12/2005 )

  1. No Amateurs, Hunter Chases and NH Flat races.
  2. Jockey Exceptions: Disregard this whole "system" with Horses ridden by A.McCoy , G.Lee (for Howard Johnson) and R.Johnson - e.g. Even if they appear on the NOTLIST they are disregarded (and marked as "N/A").

FLAT RACING RULES (Updated 09/12/2005 ):

  1. No Amateurs, Lady-riders.
  2. No AW racing.
  3. Jockey Exceptions : Disregard this whole "system" with Horses ridden by K.Fallon , J.Spencer , S.Sanders and L.Dettori (for Said bin Suroor only) - e.g. Even if their mounts appear on the NOTLIST they are disregarded (and marked as "N/A").

+ ODDS-ON - NO BET (These go into the Non A/C section)

SUMMARY:

The simplest way to utilise this above information is to look at my Tops & Bottoms each day (Selections and Rejections Tipsters List) - observe the additional Rules - and then proceed to "streamline" accordingly.

**RULES FOR "STREAMLINING (A SELECTIONS)"

  1. Review final Selections from Methods above.
  2. Exclude any horses known to be odds-on.
  3. Aim at a maximum of 5 Selections - if more than 5 qualify remove those horses with the longest (tissue) prices (they become B.SELECTIONS*) to leave 5 only....Note, if there are 5 or less in the original Selections List then they will all be the "***Streamliner" Selections.
  4. I now score points dependent upon the qualifying Tipster's position in the Tipster Tables - Unless otherwise announced, my recommended base stakes are £5.00 win (or £2.50 e/w if e/w is stipulated) per point scored , but of course I leave it to each individual as to the actual amount staked - In the event that I nominate a Nap or "NB" (Next Best) this merely implies that I favour these above the others - If I nominate a SUPER NAP that will normally be a selection which scores 5 to 9 points (and the bet is calculated at £5 per point) and, as with DOUBLE SUPER NAPS (10 points or more - but subject to a Maximum £50) the recommended stake will also be shown in brackets.

Note : Unless specifically stipulated as E/W all my selections are treated as Win only - Despite this it is appreciated that each-way betting must always be a matter of individual preferences.

------------------------------------------

For my part I will not only continue to monitor, analyse and report to you daily to these ends but will also, to help you further and as an additional check for you, send (usually via the "Final Message") my own calculated Daily "JC" Selections and "JC" Rejections as produced by applying the above criteria.
